Greenfield’s MacKenzie Paulin competed in the A Shot For Life Home Run Derby and Pitcher Challenge on Saturday at New England Baseball Complex in Northborough, raising money for “A Shot For Life,” a sports-based non-profit organization that funds health and cancer research initiatives.

The event raised just under $90,000, 128 percent of the goal heading in.

Feed the Families tournament

Thomas Memorial Golf Club is holding its Thanksgiving “Feed the Families” Tournament on Sept. 21, with the shotgun start beginning at 8 a.m. 

The cost is $300 for the first 18 teams that sign up, with all teams must having paid in full by Sept. 16. The event is a four person scramble with cash prizes raffles, skins and closest to the pin. The event is to benefit families in need by providing them with a complete Thanksgiving meal basket. 

To sign up, call the Thomas Memorial clubhouse at 413-863-8003 or at 413-659-3061. Donation checks can be made out to Chester Czernich and mailed to PO Box 16, Turners Falls, MA 01376.

Nancy Donoghue and Nancy Robie tied for first with scores of 1-up in a match play vs. par contest at the Country Club of Greenfield Tuesday.

Franklin County Bulldogs 

Brock Puchalski ran for 104 yards and two touchdowns while Gavin Keene also found the end zone as the Franklin County Bulldogs PeeWee squad beat Ware, 20-6 on Sunday. 

Orion Ortiz added a conversion while Pheonyx Maynard played well on defense for the Bulldogs.
