Legion baseball: Greenfield Post 81 rallies for 7-6 comeback win over Westfield

The bats came to life for the Greenfield Post 81 Senior American Legion baseball team during the sixth inning against Westfield Post 124 on Thursday night. 

Trailing 4-2, Post 81 scored five runs in the frame and held off Westfield in the seventh to walk away with a 7-6 victory on the road at Bullens Field. 

Shane Brussard hit a two-RBI single that knotted the game in the sixth before Dylen Richardson singled to drive in a pair that gave Greenfield (11-5) the lead. Jackson Campbell added an RBI single to give Post 81 its 7-4 lead. 

Brussard finished with a pair of hits and RBIs while Logan Moore tallied two hits and an RBI for Greenfield. Ben Werner recorded a hit and an RBI, Hugh Cyhowski knocked two hits while Braeden Tsipenyuk hit safely in the win. 

Caleb Thomas pitched the opening five innings and struck out two before Cyhowski tossed the final two innings and struck out two. Westfield loaded the bases in the seventh, scoring one on a walk and one on a wild pitch before Cyhowski got a pop out to close out the win.
